Getting to Know the Triangle Startup Scene (Copy)

I moved to North Carolina about two months ago for an internship with a corporate VC group. I still have a home in Chicago, but for now, I’m living in the Triangle and getting to know the local startup ecosystem.

So far, it’s been great!

People have been welcoming and generous.
Founders, investors, operators — everyone I’ve met has been open to sharing time, advice, or just a bit of context. Whether it’s been a quick coffee, a warm intro, or an invite to something going on, it’s clear people want to help each other here. That’s not always the case in bigger markets.

There’s a lot happening beneath the surface.
Between the universities, the research hubs, and the steady flow of technical talent, there’s a solid foundation for company-building. The Triangle might not be as loud about it as some other places, but that doesn’t mean the work is any less serious.

I’ve met folks working on hard, meaningful problems — in biotech, clean energy, manufacturing, and more — and I’m excited to get involved while I’m here.

I’m still new, but I’m leaning in.
If we haven’t connected yet and you’re working on something in the region, I’d love to hear about it. Whether you need help thinking through a strategy, looking at a market, or just want to compare notes, I’m happy to chat.

Looking forward to seeing what else the Triangle has in store.
