Hello, my name is Chris.
I work at the intersection of venture capital, startup leadership, and life sciences. I am currently an MBA candidate at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, an MBA Corporate Venture Capital Intern at MANN+HUMMEL Ventures, and the CEO of an early-stage biotech company. This site includes my investment research, financial models, and writing.
Over the past year, I have transitioned from a decade-long career in global biopharma operations into venture capital, startup leadership, and early-stage company building.
I currently serve as an MBA Corporate Venture Capital Intern at MANN+HUMMEL Ventures, where I support early- and growth-stage investments across mobility, environmental solutions, and life sciences. My work includes deal sourcing, diligence, market and competitive analysis, financial modeling, and supporting portfolio companies on strategy and growth.
Alongside this role, I am the CEO and interim CFO of Theranzyme, a biotech company spinning out of academic research and focused on therapeutic enzymes for viral infections. I am also an Associate at Fair Winds Capital, supporting fractional CFO and CIO engagements, and I advise several early-stage companies, including Aura Life Science, a biosynthesis platform company; Infis AI, a supply chain risk and intelligence software startup; PlantNano, an agricultural nanotechnology venture; and NU MINT, a neurorehabilitation technology company.
Before business school, I spent over ten years at AbbVie, a global biopharmaceutical company, where I held roles across engineering, manufacturing, supply chain, procurement, and supplier risk management. I led global programs focused on supply continuity, industry and company intelligence, and merger and acquisition due diligence, supporting both day-to-day operations and strategic decisions.
I am an MBA candidate at the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, pursuing concentrations in Finance, Entrepreneurship, and Strategic Management. I earned a Bachelor of Science in Chemical Engineering with Distinction from Purdue University, with minors in Chemistry and Economics.
I am driven by curiosity and enjoy working at the intersection of technology, strategy, and execution. Outside of work, I enjoy photography, reading, following public markets, and traveling with my wife, Erin.

What drew me to investing?
My journey into investing started on my sixth birthday with a meaningful gift from my grandmother—one share of Microsoft stock. She patiently explained what it meant to own a piece of a company, sparking my curiosity. Over time, we began investing in companies that caught our attention. Together, we would research, discuss, and analyze each company, turning each investment into a learning experience.
My grandmother's curiosity and her belief in investing time and energy into things that truly interest you became a guiding principle in my life. This early exposure fostered a lifelong interest in understanding new technologies, industries, and investment opportunities. Her influence continues to shape how I approach both my personal and professional endeavors, with a focus on curiosity, learning, and thoughtful investment.
